So my lfs got in a CBB that was eating frozen so I had them keep it for about a week and a half before I took it home just to make sure he was healthy. I brought him home yesterday and placed him in a 2 month old qt tank, everything was fine, exploring the tank and acting normal. But today he has been acting a little weird, he is zooming around every pane of glass on the tank almost like he is trying to fight with something. Is this normal? Do I have something that is causing him to do this? There aren't any mirrors that he can see around the tank.
Or is this just a normal behavior?
Thanks!
Connor

No I haven't seen any glancing but he is just acting terrified. He is in a dark room am I just did a 5 gallon wc because the ammonia was up and I smelt a hint of ammonia in the water. Idk what to do except water changes and adding the ammonia medicine by seachem (forgot the name).....any ideas? Could this be causing the behavior?

Couldn't figure out how to edit my post on tapatalk so I will just add a new one.

Prime was the name of the product I added and I added 2 capfuls. I also added 3 more small pieces of lr from my dt because I am not using any meds yet. Should I be running carbon as well or just leave him be and do daily 5 gallon water changes?

Also I think this is due to me over feeding, I sucked out all the food I could which was all of it with the exception of a few pieces. How much should I be feeding him and how often?

Have you tested for ammonia?? You may have to do a bigger water change and slow down on the amount you are feeding. Also consider a small light or lamp in the room or moon light on the tank to keep from scaring it when you go into check on it. What and how often Are you feeding it? I don't think carbon would help much. Check your water parameters....could be mirrored if the tank has been barren all that time.

Dang auto correct.... should be nitrites not mirrored. Does sound suspiciously like ammonia poisoning though.

I am feeding a considerable amount. Too much, about 4 times a day but I do admit after researching it I need to feed a lot less. And ok I will see if I can find a small lamp.

Nitrites are at 0 and nitrates 5-10. And I haven't tested for ammonia just from the badge, I smelt the water and went into a panic, I will test it with the liquid test kits tonight as well.
