CBB gasping at surface

I used Red Sea and API. It was very green with Red Sea, so I tested with api which has a lower range, it was probably lower than 7.4. I tested with LFS I trust, they said it was probably 7. I can't believe it was that low. I really love the CBB though, it was the only one I can find that was eating like a champ.
Would low pH affect a fish like that though? It is a butterflyfish, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was sensitive.

I would suspect oxygen depletion was the issue.

I don't think oxygen depletion was the problem as other fish were acting normal. It was either being in low pH for a long time or just being really sensitive to ammonia (there was a small reading, but after getting the pH up it was back to normal behavior).
The most important part is that he is still thriving in QT, eats bloodworms like a pig. Just got him to eat Rod's pacific plankton today.
