CBB not eating anymore

If the fish was eating,Like humblefish says I'd be concerned. I like your idea of smashing some clam into a crack. My favorite fish Good luck !

So far the only reason I can find is that it is inclined to amphipods than anything else. Water parameters are good. No bullies in the tank as far as I have seen. I think I'm just facing a tough fish. Hate that conclusion, but I can't seem to find anything else that would cause the sudden change in appetite.

Try EasyReef Masstick. My CBB would not eat anything else but this. He beats up the other fish to get to this food.

Mine destroys clams; we freeze them and toss them in the tank about an hour after thawing at room temp. They're typically open about 1/4" at that point and it can dig in there while everyone else has to sit back and watch. I suppose this is only a good idea if you don't have ornamental clams in your tank :)

Thats great.... if it happens again, I would say your ACBB is being bullied by another tankmate and has gone into a very submissive state bc he's confined inside a glass box.

You may have to think of ways of netting him.... or the offending tankmate. Separate the two for awhile and then reintroduce to the tank at the same time.

The problem is I don't know who is "attacking" him, I have been monitoring the tank 24/7 for the past week. I definitely do NOT want to net the CBB as he is starting to feel comfortable. I'll definitely net him if the behavior starts again. Plus with all the corals and rocks, it would be a pain in the butt to catch him without destroying everything and get bitten by my eel again.

Ok maybe I was exaggerating a bit as I can literally scoop him out him with my hand (different story with cleaner wrasse, my CBB very docile), but I still don't want to bother him unless the behavior happens again.

I have aiptasia already lol, never interested.

It is an Australian CBB, so it is kinda pricey, especially when I'm not the richest guy. Besides my eels, this is my one of most expensive fish. So yeah, it would be a big loss if it starved, but for now I think I shouldn't make a big fuss about it.

I just find it odd that it is not eating prepared foods anymore.

You have the hardier being Pacific Australian rather than the I.O.

Glad to read further that your CBB is picking and eating.

I just bought EasyReef Masstick for my CBB yesterday. Not only my CBB isn't eating it, NO ONE is even picking at it. Is this something that takes time? How do I entice this to my fish?

I personally never had success in getting my fish to eat it.

Next time your CBB stops eating, post a pic or video. Sometimes all it takes is for a different set of eyes to possibly spot something that can elude us because we are searching too hard.

Since you said no other tank mates were harassing it, I would closely monitor it’s mouth for injuries in case it pokes at bristle worms and sustains an injury.

Best of luck
