I recently purchased a CBB and was told by the LFS that it was eating mysis with no problems. Since bringing it home, it refuses to leave its hide out and I haven't seen it it. I have tried rods food with garlic, mysis with garlic and dried seaweed on a clip (wouldn't come out to eat it). Anyone have any tricks to get a CBB eating?

What other fish do you have in your tank? CBB are a bit skittish. Before my current CBB , I have two others that was eating in my LFS and when I add it in my tank it went to hiding then die. The reason is I used to have a yellow tang and it is a bossy one. Since my tank crushed due to 18 hours black out and wiped my fish, when I re- started one of the first fish is my CBB.

Blackworms or fresh clams with the shells cracked open would be my go to's for a finicky CBB

Did you see it eat at the store, and/or do you have a place to quarantine and acclimate it by itself?

Does your local grocery store have a live seafood section? If so you can get a couple of live muscles and little neck clams, pop them open and place them near its hideout.
