My cbb has been fine for a couple months, eating very well. Hes one of my favorite fish. Nows hes stopped eating and is breathing very rapidly and not swimming much. What's happening? I have methylene blue for a bath if needed. Cant attach video, but he looks 100% normal, all others are fine

Now that I think of it, he hasn't been actively eating for maybe two weeks. I wish I could post my vid because im thinking his mouth/jaw is broken/injured.

Going to be hard without at least a picture. Could you upload the vid to YouTube and then provide a link? Or just post up a photo if not.

Ours was great for 11 months and just stopped eating one day; died a couple weeks later. I believe the yellow tangs sporadic aggression finally broke the butterflys spirit but I have no way of knowing what exactly happened. It was a tough decision to break up the reef to save the fish or let the fish go to save the reef.

It's not about not eating, he was eating just fine. I'm 90% sure his jaw is broken. I'm hatching baby brine shrimp now maybe smaller food will be better

He looks pretty thin to me. Is his upper jaw deformed/injured?

If that's what's going on the outlook isn't good. If you have access to live black worms or white worms that might entice him to eat when nothing else will. If he doesn't eat soon I don't think he will make it.

It looks to me that his jaw is broken and is at an unnatural angle, and has been for a few weeks, but I haven't thought much of ut. He's very thin now, not sure if he's gonna live. He's my favorite, he better not die. If he can make it till morning, I'll have some better food for him.

They often get flighty and dart around, could have hit the glass and injured its mouth. That’s a very thin fish.

They love live black worms as well. Though they are known for occasionally suddenly refusing to eat.

Aggressive fish and even aggressive eaters can cause this change in behavior quite frequently.

Do you quarantine your fish?

Dead.
Cause of death: Broken jaw lead to starvation over a period of about 3 weeks
