it worth doing a water change as well?
Please test. You likely paid good money for this fish and I would not rely on a $7 badge that also works for freshwater to sustain a fish like this. Over water, how did you acclimate this fish and for how long ?
I did test listed above it’s 0. It was drip acclimation over about an 1hr-1.5 hr .
Did you verify bag water salinity with that of display tank?
i wouldn't do a change unless i suspected an issue stemming from the water conditions. my main objective with a stressed fish is to give it an opportunity to calm. it's already dealing with different water conditions in a new tank, probably a slightly different temp and all the nuances of a different system. hope she pulls through for you!
I did not verify the ph in the shipping bag. I did a drip acclimation when water doubled I drained it down and waited for it to double again l per the shippers instructions.
I think the question he was getting at is the salinity. Some LFS keep their fish at relatively low salinity. If you quickly acclimate them - they can have stress. I tend (assuming your tests are correct) - to agree with you - that quirking changing things could be problematic. Assuming your other fish are 'fine'.
I think you should focus elsewhere for the source of stress than acclimation; fish don’t acclimate, settle in, start feeding and then stop eating and acting stressed as a result of the acclimation that took place 3 days prior. That would be like getting in a car crash and feeling ok and then developing a broken leg two days later - it just doesn’t happen.
