My copperband buttery died :(. I had him for over 2 years. I didn't see any sign of disease and he recently starting eating Mysis in addition to the clam meat he normally ate. Mt emperor did harass him now and then, but nothing serious. Sigh :/

Sorry to hear. Such beautiful and well mannered fish I had the same thing happen had one for 2.5 years and came home one day to find him on the bottom breathing heavy. He ate mysis fine and seemed good the day before. Always wondered if our aquariums are just missing something needed in their diets but if so you would think you would see a slow decay not the sudden lights out I give up reaction. I assume you say no real warning signs either.

No warning. Actively feeding the day before. Upside down on the sand the next morning. I have a long spined urchin, a fox face, and a carpet anemone in the tank. Makes me wonder if one of them stung him.
