Cencal’s 20L Shallow Reef

Those euphyllia look awesome! Definitely looks like some sort of rhodactis, gotta love freebies!

Thanks, I’m starting to dig the flow in this tank with all of the euphyllia and bubble tips! Definitely love the freebies, ASD always has the best, excited to see it grow and drop off babies

everything is growing, sunny Ds are adding two more polys, the bubble gum digi has been branching out and gsp has been encrusting on the rock at a rapid pace now, will be adding another AI prime by the end of this week!

Nice looking tank!

I’m sure you’ll enjoy the second light will help you keep some sps and give a little less shading to the tank.

Thanks! Oh 100% agree, I can’t wait to possibly get a few more sps, right now I have only low light sps and at 80% everything is growing granted I have the sps central to the light. But would love to use the rock space more by adding another prime. Should be fun

Having issues with hair algae in my 10g, any suggestions?

Man it’s been a slow and steady battle but I’d say my biggest weapon in the fight against hair algae is my turbo snail, got him and some other snails from reef cleaners and he had my display pretty spotless in less than a week. Threw him in my sump and he cleared that out in 3 days, he munched on even longer strands. I had some in the display that I wanted him to clean up so I put him back in then just put him back in my sump yesterday to get rid of some hair algae that grew back. All in all I’d say it’s under control now! Honestly I dialed in my skimmer to skim more and just have been making sure I don’t feed an excess amount. I feed everything in my tank but I try not to let leftovers decay. It’s a balance because I know my LPS and SPS is loving those nitrates because they’re pretty vibrant haha but I’m also using chaeto in my sump at the moment also, running on 12 hr cycle

Honestly this is probably this is probably my favorite acan I have at the moment, starting to see some really nice colors appear on the edges, I notice another head appearing I think, one can hope!

I just added a hang on protein skimmer from Coralife, hoping to see some good improvements. Sounds like I may need to fire my current snail crew lol thank you for the info!

Lol if you’ve never tried reef cleaners I would try them out, all my snails have been pretty good from them and I hope the skimmer does wonders for you! On a 10 gallon a lot of people would say they’re not necessary which is true because I’ve done it without one but they sure do help especially with higher bioloads! No problem! You should start a build thread if you have time haha
