Tank is a 36 gallon bow front.. only 30 in long. Has a middle brace.. can I cut it off? I want to put a Kessil light in the middle but the brace is in the way. With it being a small tank do I "need" the center brace

Yes, centerbrace is definitely important for the support. Better to be safe than sorry! We're you going to go w/ a 360? Why not do two 160's?

I was going to do one 360 in the middle if able to take it out but I am going to have to do 2 160s now. Lol do you think I can put the 360 mounted on the side of the tank kind of pointed towards the middle?

You will possibly get mixed responses, but my advice is dont remove it. A factory trying to make maximum profit won't add pieces that have no purpose. More material means more money. I have seen people cut it out then replace it with a pieces for clear acrylic. What kessil do you plan to run? You could do 2 160s and not sweat the brace.

Took to long to post haha. I would go with 2 160s. Kessils don't have very much spread so you will get dim spots with just 1 360. If you angle it at the side think about how much water the light will have to penetrate to reach the other side definetly not the best option.

U be fine with 2 160s I have a 150 over my 29 and its 8 " off water and my cube is covered with light and it's great I've got loaded with Sps frags and there growing like crazy

I have (2) 160we on my 46gal bow front with center brace. No regrets. Definitely get the controller.
