Hi does the centre light affect lighting on my tank
it looks like it's reflecting the light

What can I do
I don't want to buy a new light as I just bought it

Advice please

No... Just take the light off and flip the legs around and move them to the outside of the light. You just have it set up wrong.. [emoji16].

The legs of the light should be on the outside of the tank, not holding he light in the middle like you got.

I know what you mean the light is too short for me to go outside of tank
It's the centre glass that's effecting the light not the legs of the light.

But yeah I know what you mean and your right

I don't think those 2 little panes of glass will have that big an impact. I would worry more about the weight of the light. Those braces are for lateral strength, not supporting weight. From the pictures it looks like they should reach the edges of your tank, no?

Your going to get reflection with whatever light you use, but with that light the way it is, someday its going to end up in the water when you bump it. You might have McGiver another to hold the light.

I can hang it from the ceiling
The centre brace is very sturdy
This is how strong it is my 3 year old son sat on this brace before and the light is now where near as heavy as him

what should I do with the brace

Ok I'll hang the light, I totally agree what your saying

Should i be worried aboutthe centre brace effecting light

The only bit on the aquarium that is siliconed is the back, the corners are rounded off

Could I have a preace of glass going along left to right at the back (top) then remove centre

So basically a eurobrace, yes, then you could eliminate the center brace. But you would need to empty the tank to do it.

What's a eurobrace is that the one that goes all the way round

This made me laugh. Think you have problems? My Oceanic 140 center brace is freaking 14" wide! LOL! Seriously though, just keep them clean. You will be fine. Hanging the light will look better too.

Proberly me being too cautious because I want it to be perfect and don't want my sps to die

Lol I know it's part of the hobbie lol

But thank you everyone that's why I love this forum cause you can ask anything about your tank

Thx
