Hello, I am using Cepex valves to regulate my drain and return line. Do I need Teflon tape on the threads and do I also need to cement the pvc pipe to the valves? The directions elude to this but I thought the whole point of the valves was easy connect/ disconnects. Finally do I need to tape/cement unions to?

Thanks In Advance!
Steve

There are two connection types included with these. One would be glued onto the pvc, the other screws on. Screw on style, I would put tape on them.

They are easy disconnects in that they are also a union. If you used a regular union it would be glued to the pvc as well, you would just need a separate ball valve.

Go easy on the teflon tape if you use the threaded inserts...more is not better. Just a few turns is fine.
