I need to find a source for both of these. The frag plugs have to be ceramic, I much prefer them to the others. As far as IC gel, well, it's the ductape of the reefing world :hammer: Where can I get both? I've found places that carry one but not the other. Thanks!

does it have to be IC gel? any cyanoacrylate super glue gel will do the same thing. if i remember right, IC gel is expensive?

I use 1 inch square ceramic plugs from Lowes. They come in a 12 x 12 "sheet" (144 tiles) for $5.??. It has a sheet of plastic gauze and a paper mesh glued to the back. I buy them 2 or 3 at a time, pull the gauze off, and boil them in a pot of water on the stove. While it boiling stir them well so they will scrub together to get all the paper off. Rinse them well and you're good to go. Glue to the rough side. They're pretty small and will lay close together to save room in your frag trays but big snails won't be able to get between them to keep them "polished".

The IC is good, but take my word for it, you will be much better pleased with Loctite 5gm tubes. They do not plug as fast as the IC, is much thicker and takes less plus sticks faster and stronger. It does cost a little more, but you will find that you use less and waste less, especially trying to unplug the nozzel. You can get it at Home Depot and Lowes.
I have used tubes and tubes of both and the Loctite is the best of all the brands I have tried including GE, Duro, generic dollar store, etc.

I agree, Loctite is the way to go. It can be purchased at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes or about any other place like that.
For ceramic plugs, I like OceansWonders.com. The guy that owns the site (Jaimie) is awesome to work with and has great products!

I use the same ceramic H@rry does (he gave me the idea). Cleaning them was a PITA for me, but cost is pretty low. My hands were sore when I finished;).

I found what I was looking for :) As far as IC vs Loctite I prefer the IC gel. I'm not sure if I had a bad tube of Loctite but in my experience the stuff is crap.

It was the wiping of glue afterwards. I didn't boil, though. I kept saying I was going to, but didn't...

i tried the boiling but while youre wiping off some the others harden so you have to reheat
it was just a hassle imo
and they were $10 a sheet when i got mine
as for loctite, i didnt like that either but i also might have gotten a bad batch
i just use regular super glue gel
