Ceramic Magnets from hardware store reef safe?

as I got to thinking though, per the first question it seems there are no reef safe magnets, they all need a protective layer to avoid degeneration? it appears one can make a reef safe magnet though. from what I read so far there is no place I can simply buy two magnets unmodded and use one underwater for my needs

No, ceramic magnets are reef safe.
Ceramic magnets are the magnets in power heads

Like said I've used bare ceramic magnets in my reef tanks for more than a decade and I know many others who do so as well.

I may do this trick with suction cups then lol but really. remember those little black ringed suction cups that hold thermometers underwater for old school fw setups

that ring w go around a frag plug and hold it to the glass

am buying 4 therms today at lfs lol easy workaround

Here's another thing i did with frag discs. Just use the same diameter masonry bit as the magnet. And maybe a little glue

They guarantee any of the plastic covered ones to be aquarium safe. Don't use the rubber ones though. I'm not sure why everyone wants to use the ceramic ones?

Thanks alucard which size or strength magnet do you use?

You possibly have listed exactly what I need to frag out all the glass in my vase and gracias

I just ordered six for test run
pics in about a week thanks team~As I distribute this plant n plug idea to pico reefers I'll link back here so they can see your find. I searched tons of times for that hard plastic type and never had the right search terms. That link above is going to take stinging, bad behavior frags in my pico relegated to the darker rear aquascape back into the light and above the others, mag mounting dots coming soon

I could not possibly be happier. picture neo-strength but cased in simple plastic, can't rust from what I can tell this should work perfectly. I now own three tiny movable frag holders pics soon

that link above is truly reef safe magnets out of the package and pretty cheap. ill be getting six more now.

I told the NR.com bunch about your reco and linked them, I expect these to be sold out next time I go back on payday lol. nice nice referral of helpfulness.
