Hey i am planning a barebottom reed tank and was going to load up my sump with some ceramic bricks to gain surface area? What are some good ones that eont turn into mush after a period of time?
Thanks

I’ve had good luck with the Maxspect bio media thus far . Been using about a year

+1 to maxspect. The biobricks aren't cheap but I've had 2 in a tank for close to 3 years and they're still structurally brand new, just covered in sponges and what not.

Seachem matrix is durable. I think its basically cleaned pumice stone

I've used Marinpure and Brightwell bricks in the past and both are fairly delicate and contribute aluminum. I wouldn't say there were actively breaking apart, but a slight touch/bump was enough to break it up. I now only have Siporax media and don't have any issues.
