Anyone have pics of their tanks with only ceramic rocks? Ones like gooch (iirc) sells. I am just curios how that works out.

Also feel free to post if you have almost all ceramic rock, but a few small pieces of live rock.

My concern with ceramic rock is always that even when shaped on the outside is solid and doesn't seem to allow any real internal pores. The pods and worms that burrow into the insides of regular live rock can not hide inside the ceramic rocks.

Guess I am just curious how other people made out using mostly ceramic rock. I have had only a nano tank for some time now and have no plans to upgrade, I used almost all ceramic and it has been running this way for a few years. I had a very limited budget for corals and wanted a tank that needed very little attention. I have had issues with a few things. HA/Cyno/misc bad algae, but this is also a soft coral tank so I worry much less.

I don't post much or keep the newest coolest corals, I limited all the corals in this tank to very cheap softie frags. So since I have had this tank a while with mixed results, just wonder how others with just ceramic rock are making out. I'd post a pic of mine if I wasn't ashamed lol.

I have about 60/40 Ceramic/Fiji Rock. Your assumption is correct that ceramic rock doesn't harbor the microfauna like live rock does. Would need to have live rock in the sump for filtration if you use 100% ceramic in your display. It could be done but system would be healthier with good quality live rock.

Wow lazy, love the tank, really nice aquascape. I have been thinking of going back to SPS but not sure I am commited yet.

I have thought about putting some LR in my sump but dont want to create a detritus trap. Would have to throw a powerhead down there.
