I’m guessing these are dead added 4 yesterday they have moved from the spot they where placed checked them this morning gave them a slight push with my coral feeder and they just slide along the glass I’ve picked them up gave them a sniff no smell put them back and no movement or sticking so dead ?

I would leave them alone. My florida ceriths and dwarf ceriths were both like that. Give them some time, some snails take longer to acclimate

if they don't smell they're probably fine, give em a few more days to move, and if they don't, see if they respond to stimuli

Thanks for the responses it’s the not sticking at all part that is worrying me it’s a bare bottom tank can literally glide them along the bottom

np, like @Jdadams said sometimes things take a bit longer to adjust, though it usually shouldn't take longer than a few hrs, 48at a maximum. but you never know. have you checked params?
Yeah just being able to slide them across the glass I’d expect them to stick and try stay in place but no resistance at all I’m not even applying any pressure

I haven’t checked them today yesterday was;

nitrate 2.5
Alk 10.5
Po4 0.123
Salinity 34.8 ppt

ammonia? nitrite? lots of inv are super intolerant of these. but when you say slide across glass are they still attached?

Mine are pretty easy to slide on the glass — I sometimes move them or flick them off when I’m going to do glass cleaning, and they either slide around and keep on truckin’ or drop off to the sand.

Edit: I also wonder if bare bottom is an issue? They like to bury in the sand. Mine spend from early morning until late afternoon buried, then rise up and start doing their thing.

I don’t test for neither of these as tank is over two years old I guess I could grab an old api test out the loft. No attachment at all

I see, doesn't hurt to check, I've been surprised by some of my levels before, but if its 2yrs old I couldn't imagine that as the issue. just keep an eye on them and fingers crossed, could try some water changes, that'd be my best rec at this point. good luck.

Cheers for your help bud

Did you acclimate them and if so. . how and for how long? Additionally, what is Nitrate level in tank ?
Dont rule them dead but allow them at least another night to adapt and see if they have moved then

My guy! yes I acclimated them for 30 mins after temp acclimation adding a cup every 5 minutes to the bag nitrate level is 2.5 I have to dose nitrate otherwise it bottoms out I bought this cuc due to the film algae issue I’ve been having in a previous thread you helped me out on if you remember?

generally when I acclimate snails- I float bag for 20 mins and empty contents into a Clean pail and add a cup of tank water every 15mins 6X ( 1.5 hours) and assure salinity is close to tank salinity before releasing. They should come around but require good acclimation

Notes taken thank you
