Are these baby cerith snails? they started showing up in my tank about a week ago. I haven't added anything new in a few weeks. When I first started seeing them they were much smaller. My CuC had Cerith Snails, Nassarius Snails, and Turbo Snails, along with Red, Blue, and Scarlet legged Hermit Crabs. Other than CuC my tank has 2 clownfish, a sand sifting starfish, and a yellow tang.

Each "black dot" you see on the glass or rocks in the pics is one of them, some are very small, about the size of a pin head.

Honestly I'm not sure where they came from. I ordered my CuC as a pre-selected bundle deal from here: https://aquariumdepot.com/small-caribbean-saltwater-clean-up-crew/ after my tank was done with its cycle, around October of last year. and the crabs have killed off most of the snails since then, only a few were seen regularly before this outbreak. now there are probably 30-50 of these baby ones that swarm the glass just before lights out and go away just after lights on. they dont seem to be bothering anything, and seem to mostly be feeding off of the film algae on the back glass and rocks. the larger they get the more the shell turns from a rounded type shell to a cone type. I never saw any eggs of any sort. The last thing that was added was a yellow tang, about 3 weeks ago now. the week before that a blasto frag. I've only been seeing these for about a week, but could not get any pictures of them at first bc they were just too small for my camera to focus on.

They remind me of a Dwarf planxis from reef cleaners.
Thanks, I can see the resemblance for sure. What a strange thing to have picked up, any idea as to why I'm seeing so many all of a sudden? Will crabs be enough for population control or should I pick up some type of fish?

I honestly wouldn't do anything. Have you cleaned your glass recently? Is there a little film algae on there at all? Did we just have a full moon or are we about to? That's when I've noticed the snails I don't see out that often, come out to "play".

If it's not that family of snails, I feel it is something as equally benign.

yes actually lol. I've been fighting green algae so I wipe the glass clean each week when I do water changes, and within 2 days there is a film again. and we just had a full moon 5 days ago :D So for now I'll just keep an eye on them and hope they go back into hiding. Just don't wanna end up with 50 1" snails in a 20g tank lol. thank you for the advise. always great to hear it from you.

According to your link they are from the carribean not florida ;)
