Hi everyone! Happy Sunday!! Anyone have experience ordering Cespitularia? I ordered one from Live Aquaria last week and it has almost shrunk to nothing. I read online that they do not travel very well. Anyone have success ordering these online?

Frag started falling apart during drip acclimation:

Is this typical of Cepsitularia frags received through the mail? It is currently just a few mm long and maybe four or five polyps down from almost an inch with more than ten polyps.

This type of coral is very difficult to ship and doesn’t have a good track record of success. Something like this coral, you are better off purchasing at your local pet shop. This way you can visually see it and inspect it for health and if it is healthy through the shipping process, then the changes of it making it into your tank alive increase significantly.

Thanks! That is what I was reading online!! Have you ever received a coral that crashed right after you received that you were able to nurse back to health?

Fortunately, I have not, however I very rarely order online. I much rather go to the many fish stores around the Central Florida/ Orlando, Florida area. This way I can see what I’m getting plus the live stock has already been shipped so that stress is over. Then I can evaluate the health of the animal to make a better choice to help with the success of the animal and the odds of it surviving at a higher percentage.
