cFloor's 190gal. SPS

I wanted to do a quick update. About a month ago, I had a couple days of coral spawning in the tank. For some dumb reason I didn't video the first event which had much much more eggs floating around. The second time, I did get a quick video. What was very interesting to me, was this took place during a full moon. I thought that was really cool! It was my Cali Tort that spawned.

One of my gold flakes waiting to get fed

I did some pruning and removal of some colonies to create a little more room for frags and growth

Couple of my baby angels in the frag tank, doing very well

Oh wow man! Coral spawning in your tank is awesome!

Unbelievable job I love your tank!!! What are the dementions I'm sorry if I missed them ....I just broke down and sold two tanks because I am moving. last night I couldn't sleep thinking about planning my new build ..... today I stumble on this beautiful thread thank you for sharing

I wanted to share my current project with everyone. This is an upgrade from my previous tank. 190 gallon DSA. All corals have been with me through 3 tanks now as well as most fish.
This pic was taken after 2 weeks of initial setup

And this is the most recent FTS taken on 6/26/2015
Beautiful

Very Nice tank, colorful corals and fish, I am in love with these angles. I am curious about these angels, Blue Girdled Angelfish (Pomacanthus navarchus) and The Regal Angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus) are they getting along?

Very good! I never heard of coral spawning in captivity.
Feel free to send your clippings my way. :)
Beautiful reef!

Awesome ....

Wow....quite an accomplishment to have a coral spawn; must be VERY happy. Congrats!

Gorgeous tank

Thanks! My tank is 60"x27"x27"
i love the colors and cant believe the difference in the growth after a year.

Awesome! As usual, I love your pics and video!

What do you think triggered it? Lighting? Water change? Temp change?
I believe justingraham is right on. I've had the corals for years now but this was it's first spawning event.
Nature corals spawn once a year usually on the first full moon in November

Beautiful

what do you feed your fish? they look really healthy. I have a my yellow tang, purple tang and blue tangs. don't look as healthy as your. would like to try your diet. see if they do better.
I feed a wide variety of foods. I mix it up day to day, but feed: live black worms, nori, fresh clams, mussels, squid, oysters,LRS Reef Frenzy, spirulina brine, PE mysis, Reef Nutrition R.O.E. and probably a few others that I am forgetting. I do not feed any dry foods such as flakes or pellets.
That's absolutely awesome it spawned! Do you feed your SPS anything?
I do not feed my corals but I feed my fish heavy, usually 3-5 times a day.

These two fish do get along fine in my tank and both leave my corals alone. I would not trust them with LPS corals. When I introduce a fish, I always use an acclimation box for a few days to avoid aggression.

Thank you everyone for checking out my video and pics and thanks for the kind comments :)
