Stupid question.. those 5 pvc pipes are your returns? And then your overflows are drilled in the bottom? Really dumb question... Just trying to figure out the closed loop plumbing ect.... Tank looks like its coming along really nicely. very jealous of your cabinet.

I can answer this question :) the 5 lines you see is the whole closed loop system. The 4 small lines are the returns and the large one in the center is the inlet line for the CLS. Did this help?

Yeah that makes sense to me. so you have the CLS then the main system. Where is the sump plumbing to the tank? Then the returns also return water from the sump?
Sorry... I just have to get over asking a stupid question so I can learn this... Following this build is going to help me tons when I set up a tank properly...

Grumpy can answer for me... Lol on the overflows will be set up like a normal open loop system. With its own pump for return.

If you go back a few pages there is a drawing i done for him that explains the CLS quite well. And as chadderboxx said the sump/refuge plumbing is still standard with the over flow boxs in the display tank.

Thanks for the explanation. It was a lot more simple then I thought. So will you be using power-heads as well as your CLS?

Ha ha I been at work all day! 11h later and I'm still here! I need more Teflon tape on my bulkheads and ill be glueing everything tomorrow I read somewhere about not using the primer (purple liquid) about it being bad but don't quote me. And as for using power-heads I don't think ill need them that's the whole point of a cls "closed loop system". To take out equipment makes a cleaner look. If I don't have leaks after I glue everything tomorrow " have to wait 24h to glue dry" ill do a video of the cls in action.

I used just the primer I think (it was purple pvc glue at least) and it literally melted everything together. No leaks for 6 months at least.
