How many hours do you normally run the fuge light? 4?

I'm currently running mine 18 hours. Making sure it is on the entire time that the main lights are off. This helps pH and provides a location to let Algae grow when all else is off.

I can't say that will fix it. That's just what I'm doing and it works for me. I can't say it will work for all.

Hey everyone. So since my first post I’ve been dosing chaeto gro and turned the fuge lights to run on an 11 hour on period. Sadly the giant ball of chaeto I had bought is almost already gone. I’m not sure what is limiting me, but thanks for the suggestions and trying to help. Next time I’ll try some different macroalgae if anyone has recommendations

I use this light 24x7 and throw out this much chaeto every 2 weeks.

That’s the light I’m using sadly. Something is up with the water, I think my display is just outcompeting the fuge because I have had a lot of algae growth there recently.

I’m using a 100w light that has lots of reviews saying it works as good if not better than $300 lights. I also know it works bc I was recommended by my lfs that uses these and they have many tanks with this. I was originally running a 10 hour reverse period to my 10 hour of lights but turned it down bc I assumed it was dying from too much light or nutrients to 4 hours.
Get a tunze. Cheato loves it.
