I’d like to know what the grey parts are and if it seems to be dying?

I just posted something related to this in a thread, but my reading has lead me to believe this happens because there are either too few nutrients in your system or your iron is too low (though, with advice regarding iron, I have zero experience). Lighting could be an issue too.

Thank you

My first batch of cheato look like that when it start to die off. I just started a new batch of cheato for about a month now and it seems to be growing well. I dose iron every other day about 5ml as I have about a 50 gallon total system setup. i use the brightwell iron. Hope this helps.
