Chaeto - firmness

Should Chaeto be firm or soft? I have 2 batches of each, and just trying to figure out what's correct.

It should be firm but not brittle, like it shouldn’t break if you bend it, but it should have some resistance.

The more it grows the more entwined and firm it gets. You just want to monitor the color and that it’s not breaking apart.
