I originally thought of going Trident method when I set up my system, so I made as big of a refugium as I could. I'm using b-ionic instead. I've never harvested the chaeto yet , it'll get the size of a large watermelon then stop tumbling die of, clog my pumps, then start tumbling again. When it starts to die off my glass gets grimy until it starts tumbling again. My question is how much of the mass should I remove if I decide to remove some? 50% 25% ? Also I have access to caulerpa Mexicana and grape caulerpa. Does anyone grow either of those two with chaeto?

I typically have done 50%, but I suggest that you try to determine what amount would get it tumbling again and then take off some more to allow for about two weeks of growth. Good luck!

Nope only a 40 B so not big enough for tangs. My son's goldfish may like it though.
