Chaeto in a bag or floating ?

I have a 29g Oceanic BioCube and the "Media Basket" refuge tower. Like their media basket, we are supposed to place the media and the chaeto in a bag then tie it to one of the holes in the tower. But, don't many say to leave the cheato floating, and not in a bag ?

I'm concerned that a lot of strands will plug the filters, return pump and go into the display.
It would also be difficult for the pods to enter the bag.

What's your thoughts ?

I've not heard of anyone putting it in a baggy then in the filter. Ya just kinda put it in a chamber that will hold it, keep it trim enough so that it doens't go into the other chambers and get stuff messed up.
Free floating
