Wondering if anyone has ever put chaeto in their display tank.

My sump started leaking. I got a good deal on a wet/dry sump but I'm switching out the bioballs to live rock. It has a lid where the water comes in and filter pad goes, so putting a light on top can't happen.

It will grown in your display tank. Maybe more than you want. I've had some work it's way into my frag tank and the current causes it to move around and the corals close up when they get touched so I yank it out whenever I can.

My nitrates are never below 25 and yet for some reason the chaeto has failed to survive in my fuge despite providing a daylight lamp. Should I try and set it up in the DT ?

Could you tell us a little more about your fuge setup? There are several causes for Chaeto's failure to thrive. Lack of nutrients, improper lighting and or flow and low iron.
