Chaeto light bulb

A few years ago I grew chaeto with a CFL bulb picked up from a local store. It worked great, but the tank also had nutrients to supply the algae!

I've been trying this Feit LED grow bulb from Home Depot. My refugium has only been lit about 2 weeks so cant comment on the growth yet, it appears to have grown some. But the bulb seem to be an economical option if it works.
  • Suitable for damp locations - rated for high humidity use

I think you will have much better results with red & blue grow lights. Amazon has plenty in a similar configuration.

I am not too interested in the red light emitting from the tank at night.

I have it taped to the back of my middle chamber on my nano

I'm assuming you're looking for this for a refugium/sump, not the main tank?

I've got a cheap twin bulb T5 setup, 3500K over my refugium growing my chaeto like mad. Don't see any need to go crazy on the lights.

I run the refugium lights on a reverse cycle and feed the chaeto back into the tank for the fish to munch on.
