Bought about $10 worth 2 wks ago and now its getting smaller by the days. Tank is 2 months old. Trate at 5-10.

Do you have any phosphate? What sort of flow and light do you have? We need more details to be able to help.

I havent tested for po4. Its in my 23 g cube no sump with wp10 wavemaker and another tiny pump. 160 w led on low like 15% blue 5% white.

What type of lighting is on the chaeto?

Is there any other type of algae (even hair) in the system?

Often adding iron or manganese can help restore green color back to chaeto if you see it losing color.

You need both phosphorous and nitrogen in the water to keep algae growing. So, knowing PO4 and NO3 levels are important.

A two month old tank isn’t very old. The chaeto needs food. What are you keeping in the tank? If you have a low bioload then it will slowly waste away.

I dont have any fish yet just bunch of hammer, torch, gonia frags. No HA. Cheato is getting the same light as the corals for about 5hrs a day.

Well i do feed Reef roid to my frags and occasionaly tiny bits of raw shrimp for the RBTA. Ill uo my feeding too.
