Chaeto not growing but getting dense!

Hello all,

I have changed my Ocean Revive that was lighting the fuge to the new Kessil H80 connected to my APEX and configured for grow @100% intensity.

The fuge is 50x50x50cm ...

Now instead of growing the chaeto is getting pretty dense much more than before but it's not growing anymore. It's still very green when you take it out of the water but aside from that ... nothing!

Can it be low/lack of light?

If it is getting more dense then it is growing. Once it gets so dense that the light doesn't penetrate into the middle of the ball then the growth will speed up on the outside. Just give it a little more time.

Two weeks ago I changed my refugium light from a TMC Grobeam 1500 daylight (32w 6500k) to a Mars Hydro 300 grow light based on experiences from others in this forum, such as Denis De Silva (D2Mini). All I can say is WOW!! My chaeto now doubles de size every week!!!

This is a 100€ 132w grow light and it is freaking amazing!!

what ever happened to your chaeto . Im having the same issue right now: it was growing well then I trimmed it now it’s not spreading, but it’s really dense and green .
