I have chaeto and flame algae in my fuge. The flame algae is growing but the chaeto is not. It is under a normal screw in CF lamp clampped on the side of the sump...

Any ideas why it isn't growing?

What lamp and color temp would increase the growth?

What is the k rating on the light you are using ??? make sure its 65 k or close to that. if not it wont really grow I think regular spirall bulbs are like 10 k

Try adding a cheap (Aqua Tech) powerhead from Walmart to the fuge area. I did that and mine started growing well.

Get the new LED bulbs they sell. I got mine from lowes, but they have them almost everywhere now. They coast around $30. Mine was growing very very slow too until I got the new led bulb. Now I trim back my refugium a few times a week.

Agreed. Cheato for some reason needs to be "floating" or have a bunch of flow going through it. I had the same issue until I threw a 800gph powerhead at it. Caulerpa grows much better, but you always have that thing that it may go asexual on you. But, it I've got em both plus Halameda.
What wattage is the CLF? You should have the 1 thats = to 100watts, that one seems to work the best. imo
