Hey guys, I debating whether to do some chaeto in a section in my sump or build an ATS. I have some nuisance algae that I cant seem to get rid of, parameters are fine, po4 and no3 undetectable which may be false readings as the algae may be consuming it all.
Anyway I'm hoping that doing one of these methods may help with the algae in my DT and let the majority of excess nutrients (if they are present) be used up by the options in the sump.

BTW, I've stepped it up with maintenance and water changes and my algae isn't half as bad as it was a few months ago, just cant seem to get rid of it all

I have also tried vibrant but it caused some issues so I'm looking to go another route.

Also on another thought I'm wondering if an upgrade on my skimmer may make a difference.

Thoughts?

A well designed ATS is more efficient than macro in a fuge.

All the algae in my display, including cyano, disappeared after installing a scrubber.

this is a quick sketch of my plumbing at the moment, the drain line from the frag tank will be ideal to run to the turf scrubber, however its quite low.. wondering how to adjust it to get it to flow over the ATS if I installed one... its almost resting on the sump baffles.
it passes through a hole in my stand so raising it isn't really an easy or practical option due to space allocation and how its plumbed on the outside. you think a small fountain pump will work efficiently to run an ATS?
