Hey guys, what are your thoughts on mangroves in the fuge?
1. are they worth it?
2. should I only keep chaeto, or other algae?
3. DSB?

Im setting up a new fuge, 20x20x16 inches, low flow, fed directly from the display tank to provide the nutrients for the algae...

+1 to above. Mangroves included if a show 'fuge, otherwise cheato/other algae.

Look into algae scrubbers too. I'm highly tempted to build an algae scrubber for my sump system and skip a fuge all together.

Yah, read that too... Maybe a combination of both? The tank will be most likely low in nutrients, the purpose of the Fuge is mostly an aid but not main nutrient export, ph at night, and mostly an environment for reef creeters...
Display + sump + refugium = 230g
Skimmer: octopus 5000SR that goes up to 400g ..

that's a pretty healthy size setup.
Make sure the skimmer is appropriately sized. Too big may not work efficiently.

I don't mind mangroves. I like how they look and grow. If you like 'em, use 'em!
