I am looking to get some Chaeto soon for my fuge and I want to put it through a quarantine tank first. I am seeing mixed recommendations on how and for how long to do this for. So my questions are

1.) I have seen anything from 16 days to 6 weeks as the time frame. Which is it?
2.) Can I just put it into a QT tank with DT water, a HOB filter, a heater and light or do I need something else?
3.) Do I need to dip it first? If so with what?
4.) Should I feed them during the quarantine process? If so with what?

Also I know there are a lot of recommendation to get clean algae from AlgaeBarn, but honestly even then I would probably still quarantine. I have the time so don't want to rush the process if I can do it correct the first time. Thanks everyone for their inputs.

Humblefish did a write up on fallow periods. For macro I think it's only a couple days as ich/velvet tomonts can't attach to it. I recommend finding that thread.

For feeding I would imagine you'd need nutrient rich water, nitrate, phosphate, etc. Could either dose it, or use DT water and change it out as they are depleted with WC water.
