Chaeto reactor advice

Hi

I have an itc chaeto reactor and added some chaeto last week, lights were initially on for 4 hours now its 8, i just took a look at it and it seems to of not grown at all, i didnt expect much if any so soon of course but it looks like it might be receding a bit and whilst still a nice green and thick looking perhaps isnt as healthy as when it first went in.

My nitrates are 30 and phosphate .3 so plenty of nutrients to deal with.

Am i just being impatient and its perfectly normal this early on or should i start feeding chaeto gro right away?

You may want to dose some Cheatogro since it will help with the iron intake. I find that it takes some time to start growing and you end up harvesting weekly or it just dies.

I agree with the chaetogro comment above. It's a pretty decent trace element bottle imo since it only has things known to actually be used by a tank / for a biological purpose.

Been adding the correct amount of cheato gro for about 10 days and this chaeto ive got is getting worse, definitely shrinking and getting darker - browning in some areas, its not working at all really, plus nitrates are up from 35 to 49.8 in less than two weeks, im wondering if the cheato dying off is putting nitrates back into the system
