Chaeto Reactor Progression

I have the same thing on my tank. I do noticed when I leave it on for 24 hours it starts to burn the cheato so I have had to drop to only a 10 hour cycle.

I like that the light is hidden on the inside so the cheato will block some of it before it exits the reactor.

Those lights are ebay flexible strip. Not sure on wattage and not sure how well they will work. Was going to build a strip to fit in that tube with 3 watt leds

What are you using as gasket to seal between top flange and the lid?

I have o rings ordered to fit the different sizes I'm going to use. I'll router a small groove in the lid to hold the o ring in place but shallow enough to create a seal.

Nice I have one set up on my tank and it grows like crazy. It grows almost gallon bags with in 5 days from a fist size ball of chaeto. Does anyone rinse their chaeto?

Using a cnc router? I have lots of 4" tube and want to do same thing but I don't know how I'm going to cut those grooves.

Just a router table with circle jig. For the oring grove I'm using a hole saw and pretty much scoring it just enough for the oring to seat.

Uh ok, I tested the leds last night and dang they are bright! I got photo red, regular red and blues.

That's allot of leds for a reactor, going to light up the room! Did you get the dimmable driver?

Yes dimmable driver. Will be bright and hoping to have good growth lol!

Lights will be Inside the center tube. The cheato should block the majority of the light from shining through. I have a heatsink that I'll be making a strip on its way. Also I'll be putting a small fan on top to help pull any heat out of the center tube.
