Ive gotten this question alot. I struggled growing chaeto untill i added a small powerhead to the chaeto area and upgraded lights. Water needs to flow through the chaeto not just pass over the top of it. Im also running 110 watts full spectrum led lights 24 hr light cycle and no protein skimmer. I do not add any special supplements for the algae in specific. Just start with a good batch and get flow through it.
