Should i turn of the pump that keeps my Chaeto tumbling ? the light is reverse of what my display light is. so i was thinking maybe i when the light is out maybe the pump should be off

What ya think ?

If you can plug the pump in to the timer that controls the light, I'd say go for it. If you have to add another timer or splitter to your existing one, I'm thinking it isn't worth the hassle. Depending on what pump you are using I'm sure you won't see much of a decrease in you energy bill.. Another thing, if you shut the flow off you might get more of a detritus buildup over time...

Ya i have plenty of room on one of my apex power bars. I was under the impression that chaeto needs to rest. I guess why does it need to rest

Not saying it's wrong but I can't think of any reason that would be true. Maybe beneficial to organisms that live in it but not for the chaeto itself.
