I recently set up a refugium about two weeks ago. I think it's growing slowly, but today I noticed parts of the chaeto were turning see through in places. Is this something to worry about?

There is good flow through there making it float and turn around, and I'm lighting it with a 6400k light. See picture.

Personally i think your light is vaporizing it lol. Try to raise or dim it and on <10 hours. I have a 40w and it cranks out alot of chaeto. Seems like you got nutrients as long as you have a "chaeto grow" or alt supplement of some sort. Just my take. Good luck!

Is it turning white or is it turning lighter? My turns lighter on the growing parts.

How long have you had the chaeto and what test kits do you use? When I had 0 nitrates it was disintegrating and then when I added more fish growth exploded. I used the cheapest light I could find and had almost no flow. Don’t waste money on your refugium anything will grow chaeto. All those red lights/fuge lights are for money not growth.
