How can you tell the difference between Chaetomorpha and String? I have clumps of green algae, brown algae and furry algae. It was suggested to me that I "weed" my algae but how do I know what is good and what has to go? Some of the algae I can't tell if its Chaetomorpha or String because both are green and are made up of strings that can clump together.

Chaeto is very firm and wiry while string algae is flimsy and loose...if that helps.
