Chaetomorpha Question

I'm cycling a 75 gallon right now- only a week into cycle with jumbo shrimp. My question is this: When is it ok to add Chaeto to my refugium? I made a mistake and ordered a ball of chaeto online while buying a bunch of other things. I had planned on ordering it a few weeks from now, but oops, hit buy without realizing it was in my cart. It should arrive tomorrow, cycling time about 7 days.

So if I add it while Ammonia is still spiking, or Nitrite spiking, will it die, or cause some other issue? Will it eat up the good bacteria I need during cycling?

Tank-75
Sump-29
80 lbs. Live Sand
50 lbs. Florida Dry rock

It will not hurt or slow your cycle. It is pretty resilient, so there is a good chance it will lived through this. At day 7 of cycle, you should start seeing the ammonia dropping slightly already.

Cheato or any macro for that matter eat bacteria. It does export nitrates and phosphates. But amount you are adding will not affect your cycle. Good luck!
