Hey reefers,

I started a pretty sweet chalice collection recently in my new 93 cube and was wondering the best methods for successful growth with these beautiful corals. My current parameters which are usually consistent are alk 10 ca 460 mag 1400 ph 8.0 NO3 1.5 PO4 .06 (usually have it lower around .04-.02 waiting on new reactor). I am curious though, I see many reefers place there chalices on flat rocks or slabs. Currently i have all of mine placed on my DSB. Was wondering if that stunts the growth of the coral not having a sturdy bottom to grow on? Might sound silly but I am curious. My tank will be mostly dominated by chalices so I would love to here everyone's experience growing out these beautiful corals. please share - Thanks!!

I have a pretty big collection of rainbows and tried a lot over the yrs and I have noticed they grow faster with a structure under them what I do is I get aquascape construction puddy the purple kind is what I use and I make flat disk to put them on

mag seems to have a bigger impact on chalice I'm my experience and also I have some in my ulns and notice if I don't feed them regularly they get to looking a bit pale but as far as growth not much of a different from my mix to my sps tank and I keep dkh 8 cal 440 and mag 1320
