After seeing tropicoriums acid trip chalice,i really want to start collecting them now.How hard are they to take care of?Everywhere I read says that they are pretty easy.Do they like high light/low light?Do you guys feed them?Any advice and tips would be much appreciated.

Stay away you will spend to much money. They are easy to keep, I feed them every few day's. I get the best colors when they are in the sand. I have 175watt metal halides with t5's.

They will change your life for the worse! But they are cool to watch grow and change colors!

If your rich go for it. Otherwise stay away from them!! Especially if you have a wife or gf. haha They are easy to take care of. Low light and about med flow. You can feed them if they put out tentacles.

How fast do chalices grow?I heard slow, and of course based on the chalice that will vary, but what would you guys say?

Some grow good for me, and some grow slow. I feed them every couple of day's, and so far I have had good result's on all of mine. Hypertek99 could not hit the nail on the head better (Especially if you have a wife or gf) watch out if you do.

I think the speed at which they grow definitely varies. I have 5 different chalices. 1 of them has double in size in about 8 months (started around 3" now easily 6"). I have a watermelon that was half the size of my pinkie nail and no eyes, now its almost the size of a quarter and has 5 eyes (about 5 months). Got a multicolor green with orange eyes the same day and it hasn't grown much at all. I have a bright pink/black one that has grown maybe 1" and a multi-colored purple with green eyes that has grown about 2" got them both about 1 year ago.

I have them all in the sand except for the watermelon. The guy I bought it from had his colony up top so that's were I have mine. I don't spot feed any of them they just get whatever makes it to them when I feed the tank.

For lighting I have 2x250W MH (Hamilton 12k) with an IceCap electronic ballast and Sunpaq 2x96W dual-actinics.

Just be careful that no other coral can fall onto them. They are very unforgiving to anything that touches them.

Yes, be careful of the Chalice addiction it can overtake you and leave you constantly broke :D
