My Hollywood stunner chalice coral has arrived but it’s completely white and looks as if it’s got algae on it, could I get any confirmation to make sure if it’s dead ?

Doesn't look good to me. Looks like a ball of BJD (Brown Jelly Disease). Does it stink like rotten flesh?

I'd put it in some water and contact the seller and ask them what they want you to do with it.

Yeah it stinks a lot, as soon as I opened it my nostrils started stinging from the strength of it. I’ve already emailed the seller so I’ll see what they respond with

Was it delayed in shipping?
Do you have a qt tank?
What is the smell like? Death and decay or strong ocean?
If you can keep it wet, warm, lighted and flow on it, it may perk up? Most coral brown out in shipping and a few days later start showing color.
Definatly pop it off the disc.

Shipping was alright but the coral itself isn’t brown, there seems to be a lot of brown growth surrounding the coral instead

The chalice still has tissue - I would cut it off of the frag plug and give it a chance in water. What is that fibrous crap that it is mounted to?
