I have the same type. Put it in a shady spot and target feed.
When it gets acclimated to your tank it will spread where it wants to and go into the bright area on its own. The feeding should be with reef roids or similar food even though I’ve seen it take chunks of mysis.

Elevate it. Any sand that gets on it will irritiate it.

Maybe it’s new growth....
Some of mine seem to “extend” their homes outwards (the white area), then fill those new spots and recolour.
Looks ok to me, but it’s just a pic, so maybe I’m way off....
I would not touch that.

No offense vetteguy, But saying to elevate it is a little vague. Not knowing how much light is over the tank I could be detrimental to this coral.
