My chalice which has been in my tank for some time has recently started to fall off. Nothing has changed in the tank what so ever.

Is it possible something fell on it like another coral or salt creep? I've alk swings cause random necrosis like that on chalices before.

Actually sorry o forgot I housed a frog fish for about a week and that when it started to go south. The frog fish is now gone and I am about to do a water change. I am using salt with a high alk content. Nothing can fall on it. Well see how it looks after a water change.

Frogfish might have upset it but I've also had something as simple as a big grain of sand sitting on top of the chalice make it do that. If it stops flaking, it should grow back over it in no time :)
