I know this has probably been asked a lot. I picked up three chalice frags at a swap last weekend. They are my first chalices. They are still in my sand in the middle of the tank. They are getting lower flow and medium light for my tank. I have 4 bulb T5 on a 40 breeder.

The corals are all colorful and look good, but I haven't noticed any feeding response or inflating of the flesh like I have with all the other corals I've picked up. Do they usually show this? I guess they probably like different amounts of light and flow, but do you have any recommendations? All my other corals have taken food but these three haven't.

Thanks,
Dan

I should have renamed the thread title something else....

In my expience they like medium to low light and medium to low flow depending on the chalice. For feeding response, my maimi hurricane chalice has little tentacles around each eye and when I feed reef roids you can see them sucking it up

chalices usually feed at night so check on them at night after the lights are off about an hour you should see tentacles coming out. they like low medium light and lower flow
