Chalice food question

My chalice munches down on random things that come it's way. Right now it's eating a piece of red macro algae that it caught (it ate a piece of the same algae 2 days ago).. I have also seen it munch on chaeto that has made its way into the dt.. is this a problem? Is it healthy? What strange things have your chalices or other lps eaten?
