chalice help

The spot I moved it to is less flowy lol. And so far he hasn't messed with anything while feeding, but I make sure he has some food to keep him occupied. I hope he continues to be a good boy, I have had him over a year and have grown very attached lol.
I hear you. I miss having shrimp...they get eaten up in my tank now but I used to have lots of them. My reasons for hating on peppermints goes back to my prized My Miami chalice that got shredded. That was my first "high dollar" coral, 4-5 years ago when it was a lot more expensive.
There is always good and bad specimens of every species, so you may be ok with him.....

Just an update. Since moving the chalice to a very shaded spot (and a terrible one for viewing at that) it has almost completely grown over the exposed skeleton! I was getting worried for a while and almost 1/4 of it was skeleton by the time it reversed, but it has made a very impressive comeback I think;)

For about 8 more hours a orbit marine led lol. My new sbreeflight is coming today and I hope to set it up after I get home from work tonight. I may wait until tomorrow though since i am off thursday and can keep an eye on everything under the new light. This time around I got the ramping instead of the basic (that I tried and miserably failed to hook it up to the rkl, thats another story though lol) and I am super stoked to finally see it over my tank:)

Reason I ask it looks like you have a excess of red spectrum maybe due to the green algae on the frag plug.
That new light going to look sexy on that tank, does it have it's standalone building controller?

Actually this light is just blues and whites, but I am going through a case of the uglies atm, even with 0 po4. I was going to see if the new light helps any before trying hydrogen peroxide dosing. Although I didn't have any diatoms or algae bloom in this tank after I switched everything over, so I might just ride it out, I'm scared to dose lol. And it has a built in control. I have heard nothing but good things about these lights and Mike has been super helpful with all my issues with the basic light/controller lol.

Speak of the devil. Look what showed up as I was walking out the door lol.

Play with it ;)

Haha I really wish I could, but I had to drop off the munchkin before work so no time. I can't wait to get home though:) there will definitely be pics!

Here's a teaser:)

So I decided to start playing with it when I got home from work, then playing with it became hanging it, then hanging it became messing with the settings, then messing with the settings became programming it:D too bad by the time I finished it was moonlights only, so we will have to wait until tomorrow. But I almost cried when I saw just the moonlights(I was not expecting this much shimmer!), so I might actually cry when I see them in full swing tomorrow lol.

Oh boy, be careful now that nothing of that crying spills in your nano as it might raise your SG
Do you have a acclimation mode on this awesome light?
If so play with too as your corals might go in Photo-shock if you don't.
So far this light looks great.

Thanks, I really wish I didn't have to work today so that I could stay home and stare at the tank all day lol. And I started it off at max 15 whites and 40 blues so I can try and avoid bleaching anything. I'll probably wait a week or 2 and bump the whites up 5%. So far everything looks great and I am already getting much better PE believe it or not. And this light shows colors that I didn't even know my corals had haha! I'll take some daylight pics tomorrow when I'm off.

That's great to hear, will look forward to your picture later on.

id 86 the peppermint. Its worth a 10th of that chalice maybe less and will be the source of frustration later if it really is nibbling at the coral.

He has been a good boy since. He just really wanted those feather dusters lol. I hope he continues to be a good boy because I would hate to tear the whole tank apart to catch a $7 shrimp haha.
