I've had this chalice for about 6 months now. I had it when it was on the verge of dying but then nursed it back to help but upon closer look today I started noticing something strange. There are dark blotches that are on the chalice and the white spots are the skeleton being exposed. I borrowed my local clubs PAR meter and it is sitting around 110-125 Par. The parameters are 0 ammonia, nitrite, phosphate, and close to 0 nitrate. I always keep DKH around 9, CA 400-450, and mag at 1320-1380.

I recently just dipped in revive and set it to a lower light and lower flow area and hoped for the best. If anyone has experienced this please let me know. Anything helps. Thank you!

You Tank Is Too Clean for Chalices.

Raise Nitrate and Phosphate.

Feed it Reef Roids.

Dip in Bayer.

I feed reef roids 2x a week. Do you think revive and a mix of coral rx is ok? I will try to raise nutrient levels. have u experienced problems like this when u ran low nutrients for certain chalices?

Yes, Over Time when I had 0 Nitrate and 0 Phosphate all my Chalices and Acans would Die. I would get 6 Months to a Year and they would Die. Sometimes Faster than That.

Now they Thrive and Grow Fast because I feed them 3 Times a Week.

Use Bayer and not the other Dips.

1. It is the Most Effective Dip for Pests.
2. It is the Least Stressful Dip on Corals.
3. It is the Cheapest Dip Out There.

There is NO Reason Not to Use Bayer.

Good article. I have been wondering why my chalices dont do well. I have one that does very well, but the other fade away slowly. I have been running more of a low
nutrient system. It sounds like I should be spot feeding them.

Just checked my nitrate and phosphate levels and actually I have small amounts of phosphate and nitrate present within my system. The camera doesn't really pick up the blue but in my perspective it shows a slight blueish tint. Of course I don't know if this is adequate enough that is the question.

I just dipped in bayer. Hopefully maybe this was caused by some salt creep that fell in there or maybe i dose 2 part too close to the chalice. Either way I'm now taking precaution to it. As you can tell I really like this chalice lol. Hoping for the best
