Hello everyone,
I got a very tiny frag a while ago, wasn’t sure what to do with it so I stashed on the sand bed near an overhang. I’m pretty sure now it’s a Chalice of some sort but I’d be curious if someone could verify that for me. It’s currently growing In a circular pattern on a slightly vertical rock. I was thinking about moving the rock slightly more into the light and orienting it horizontally, ? Thoughts?
Or should I just Leave it alone

CYPHASTREA?

Astreopora?

Hard to tell from the picture but I would leave it alone and let it grow out in place.

Thats a crazy lookin coral bro. I have never seen a chalice wit those big ole polyps.

Probably some sort of aberrant Echinopora; I’ve seen a morph like this once before.
Thanks. I think you nailed it.
Fire Echinopora. Just found a picture after searching for Echinopra. It’s a cool looking coral. My picture isn’t the best, the mouths are green with a ring of orange. I’m going to just leave it be. Curious what it’s going to grow into . Appreciate the help
